New Job!
As some of you know I am finally gainfully employed again. I am very happy to be working again.
Sadly this means I don't have a lot of time to fly or work on this site. Fear not! As things settle at work I'll be resuming updates as time permits. The first few months of any job are always the busiest.
So keep your ideas coming, keep logging and keep having fun!
New "Report"
Finally got time to add battery stats to the Stats & Reports area. If you have been logging your mAh charged after flights you'll be able to see the following:
- Average Ah draw during flight
- Average C draw/usage during flight
- The percentage charged- this is how much power your put back into the battery after the flight vs. what the battery is rated for in mAh. So if your battery is rated at 2000 mAh and when you charged it you put 1000 mAh into it your % Charged is 50%. Over time this will tell you the health of your battery.
mAh
New feature! Ok- but first other changes-
The main log tab for adding a flight has been shortened. It was getting long and cumbersome. The optional items have been moved to a second tab called Ext. Details.
On the new Ext. Details page you'll find a new set of fields- mAh Chg Batt 1-4. This is where you can log the mAh required to charge your battery AFTER the flight. So basically after you've logged the flight and charge the respective batteries you can enter how much power you put back into the battery.
The idea here is that after you've logged the mAh a few times you'll be able to see how "healthy" your battery is over time. There are no reports/calculations for this yet. Those are coming soon. I need test data so I'm generating that now.
Enjoy! As always if there are other metrics you would like to see calculated let me know!
More New Features!
You can now track your rotor/prop use! This will let you see how much time you put on the most important part of the aircraft. You can track up to two different sets- for helicopters main and tail per flight record. For airplanes you can just use one of the fields for your prop.
There is a new menu on the right for "My Rotors". Add them here and you can start adding them to the flight records.
If you're an airplane pilot you can use this to track your prop times too. Works the same just odd terminology for you.
If you have a lot of existing logs you'd like to update with new rotor/prop info please let me know. I can help speed things along. Make sure you setup each rotor/prop first and then I can bulk assign them to the right log entries.
Happy flying!
New features and updates!
Thanks for all your patience! The following features/changes have been made:
- C ratings for batteries can now be entered
- Choosing an aircraft for a log entry is mandatory (should be obvious but I wasn't checking for this so you may have gotten an error if you didn't pick one)
- You can add up to FOUR (4) batteries per flight!
- This will allow you to capture dual battery flights plus an RX battery if you want.
- Battery stats are calculated properly so each battery will show that is was used and for the appropriate time.
- If you enter the same battery twice on one flight the second instance is ignored.
- The flight log listing shows the first two batteries. The detail for the flight shows all four.
As always keep the ideas coming!
Thanks for all the feedback!
